Availability differs on day to day basis as I am equally involved full time in a state hospital and academic work at UKZN. However I am available after hours, weekends and the public holidays.
“Pre-authorisation” is only required if your medical aid has put this condition for consulting a Specialist Paediatrician and this is mostly done by your referral GP. Therefore familiarise yourself with your Medical Aid option or phone to our consulting rooms with your medical aid details and our trained admin staff will assist you. In case of procedures or admissions in the Hospital our admin staff will help get the authorisation.
Yes only in case of emergency please. My cell phone is printed on our appointment card which will be given to you on your first consultation.
Yes sure! But in case of emergency, please take your child to Emergency Department in Ahmed Al- Kadi Private Hospital. A causality Medical Officer on duty will examine your child and will contact me. If required I will come out to see your child and advise appropriate treatment.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic and country-wide lockdown, known patients are usually consulted through video calls if a detailed physical examination is not required. For new patients, yes but it depends upon their condition and severity of disease. Medical aid rates are charged for telephonic consultations and for cash consultations EFT and proof of payment is required. Banking details can be obtained from our admin staff.
